I just realized they got rid of it. $40 is outrageous just for one report. Someone like Doug probably knows about when and why CarFax ditched the $60 unlimited license plate option.

I found out about AutoCheck! Unlike CarFax, it tells you the VIN when you type in a license plate, and it’s a whole lot cheaper!

Free. It depends on the car. I typed in the plate for my friend’s F-150 and no VIN, but my RAV4 traces to a VIN. The exact VIN, too.

Interesting. It used to work for EVERY plate I ran, then it just stopped.
Annnnd I just ran the plate of a car in the shop and it worked. Hrm.
